Privacy policy

Skin Cell Clinic respects your privacy. This policy explains, in plain language, what personal information this website collects, why we collect it, how we protect it and the choices you have. It follows Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Health information is discussed with you in person at the clinic, where it is handled under Ontario’s Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA); the website does not ask for it.

Who we are

What we collect

• Consultation requests. Your name and phone number, and, if you choose to give them, your email address, how and when you prefer to be contacted, the treatment you are interested in and your message. If you answer the “Tailor your treatment” questions and send them with your request, we also receive the answers you chose. Those questions run in your browser: nothing is sent until you submit the consultation form.
• Reviews. If you leave a review: your name, your rating, your review and your email address. Your email address is never published; your review appears with your first name and the initial of your last name, and only with your consent.
• Newsletter. The website does not offer a newsletter sign-up at the moment. If the clinic adds one, emails will only go to people who sign up, and each one will include a way to unsubscribe.
• Technical data and cookies. Like any website, the server receives basic technical data from your browser (such as your IP address and browser type), kept in its logs for security. The site uses the cookies it needs to work, for example to remember your language, your light or dark display and your cookie choice.
• Analytics and advertising cookies, only with your consent. Tools such as Google Analytics and Google Ads load only after you accept them in the cookie banner. If you decline, they are not loaded.

Please do not include medical history or other health information in the website’s forms; we discuss it with you in person.

Why we collect it

• To answer your request and arrange your consultation.
• To publish your review, if you agreed to it.
• To understand how the website is used and improve it, with your consent.
• To send you news or offers, only if you have agreed to receive them.

We never sell your personal information.

Consent and withdrawing it

You give your consent when you send a form with its consent box ticked, or when you accept cookies in the cookie banner. You can withdraw your consent at any time: call the clinic to stop being contacted or to have a review removed, and use “Cookie preferences” at the bottom of any page to change your cookie choice.

Who we share it with

We share personal information only with service providers who help us run the website, and only as much as they need:

• the company that hosts the website;
• the email service that delivers the clinic’s notifications and replies;
• Google Analytics and Google Ads, only if you accept those cookies.

Links to Google Maps and to the clinic’s Instagram page take you to those services, which have their own privacy policies; they receive information about you only when you follow the link. The Instagram feed on the gallery loads only after you click to show it, because Instagram sets its own cookies.

How long we keep it

Consultation requests are kept for up to 24 months and then deleted. Reviews are kept while they are published on the website. Technical logs are kept only as long as needed for security.

How we protect it

The website uses an encrypted connection, and only authorized clinic staff, each with their own password-protected account, can see consultation requests and reviews. We protect personal information with safeguards suited to its sensitivity.

Your rights: access, correction and complaints

You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected or ask us to delete it. Contact the clinic’s privacy contact by phone at 416 838 1415 or at the clinic address above. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, for personal health information, the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario.

Changes to this policy

We will update this policy when our practices change and show the new date below.
